Review: The St. Regis San Francisco

After an easy flight, we grabbed a cab (~$45) and were at the St. Regis in 30 minutes.  The hotel is located on 3rd street in the SoMa area across the street from Yerba Buena Gardens and close to the Moscone Center.  We've enjoyed previous stays at the W which is about 100 yards down 3rd street.  The W typically goes for 12,000 points per night so we were excited to be able to "step it up" a bit at the St. Regis for only 13,000 points per night.

Check-in was smooth and I selected 500 points for my Platinum amenity as I knew we would want to get outside and walk around vs. eat breakfast at the hotel.  We took the elevator up to our 12th floor Grand Deluxe room.  The room was really stunning with two large windows and a great view of Yerba Buena Gardens.

Unfortunately, I was under the weather for most of the weekend so didn't get a chance to checkout the gym or the pool.  We did have drinks in the lobby bar and the ambiance was really great - a mix of people headed out for the evening, kids on vacation, and business people in town for a conference.

San Francisco is a great weekend getaway from Denver and we hope to be back soon.  There is so much to do and we always end up seeing something new when we're in town.  This trip, we took a stroll up Market Street and had an awesome lunch at Zuni Cafe which has one of San Francisco's best burgers.

All in all, we really enjoyed our stay at the St. Regis but likely won't be back.  While revenue rates are usually outrageous (>$400/night++) and 20,000 points (normal rate) is a lot when the W down the street goes for 40% less.
